Personally, I went with 'evil psycho bitch' originally. I hated R with ferocity and dedication on my first read. HOW DARE SHE — abuse, lie, cheat, manipulate poor Maxi. On subsequent reads, though, I started seeing shades of grey in an already monochrome world. Becks was not just a psycho, a whore, an irredeemable character that 'deserved' to be murdered — she was also a product of her circumstances and her time.
